CENTRE FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT

The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED), of Vivekanandha College of Arts and Sciences for Women is carrying out various activities for kindling the entrepreneurship inspirations in the minds of our students. The CED was formed during year 2015-16 with the aim of creating awareness about entrepreneurship among the students. Under the CED, the Entrepreneurship Club (EC) was established for the benefit of interested students. Our CED is closely associated with Tamilnadu Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute and (EDII-TN) and Entrepreneurship Development Institute Ahmadabad under the Department of Science and Technology (EDI-DST). Our college has received many grants for organizing Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp (EAC) under NIMAT project of DST every year. Further, our faculty members are attending various faculty development programmes sponsored by DST for promoting entrepreneurship development activities in our college. Our CED is now spreading its wings to coordinate the entrepreneurship development activities in all the departments of our college through our Department Co-ordinators. CED has already conducted 28programmes including 22sponsored programmes for the benefit of our students and faculty members. Our CED is in the process of establishing INCUBATION CENTRE in our College to provide support to students/alumni startup companies in terms of consultation, business plan assistance, growth acceleration, product prototyping, office space, infrastructure facilities, mentorship and seed funding.
