Our faculty members are renowned researchers in their fields, including Nano Science, Material Science, Organic, Inorganic, Polymer, Electrochemistry and Environmental Chemistry. They have published extensively in high-impact journals and guided students to publish scholarly articles in reputed journals.
As an Autonomous Institution embracing Outcome-Based Education (OBE), our College's Chemistry Department offers interdisciplinary learning opportunities to students from other departments. Through Non-Major Elective Courses (NMEC), we provide access to specialized areas of Chemistry, enhancing students' career prospects and holistic development. The following are the NMEC courses offered by the Chemistry Department in the ODD Semester for the UG Second year students.
1. Food Chemistry
2. Role of Chemistry in daily life
Apart from this, Chemistry Department conducts the Certificate Course in Lab Techniques and Chemical Analysis, Laboratory Safety & Basic IT Skills for Chemists, Nanomaterials and Nano Technology, Clinical Research and Water Quality Analysis (Both theory and practical classes) to the under graduate students of who have registered. The classes for Certificate and ValueAdded courses are being conducted in the afternoon after the regular class hours. We have conducted many placement drives in our College campus with more than twenty five companies including software company, core company and bank sectors.
