CENTRE FOR RED RIBBON CLUB (RRC)
Red Ribbon Club through which students will be making awareness of HIV/AIDS. The Club aims at harnessing the potential of the youth by equipping them with correct information on HIV / AIDS Prevention, Care and Support and Treatment. Additionally to create awareness and to induce the spirit among youth to help and support people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) thereby reducing stigma and discrimination against PLWHAs. It also prepares and promotes youth peer educators within the campus in spreading messages on positive health behavior in an enabling environment and increasing voluntary blood donation among youth.
The clubs envisages instilling the values of service, developing healthy life styles, and increasing access to safe and adequate quantities of blood to all the needy by promotion of regular voluntary blood donation. The Red Ribbon is used as an awareness symbol for the prevention of drug abuse and drunk driving and for fight against HIV/AIDS.
