Bio-Technology

About the Department

The Department of Biotechnology was established in the year 1995 with an undergraduate program (B. Sc Biotechnology) followed by M.Sc Biotechology in 1999 and established the research program providing M. Phil and Ph.D (FT/PT) in Biotechnology from 2002 onwards. The Deparment has 187 students (141 undergraduate, 33 Post graduate, 6 M. Phil and 7 Ph.D students) with 7 well qualified faculty members devoted in enriching the knowledge and wisdom of the students. The Department has well furnished class rooms, highly equipped laboratory with sophisticated instrumentation and separate Biosciences library with e-books and digital library facilities.

Vision & Mission

Mission

  • The Department is focused towards designing an organized curriculum that would make the students to efficiently utilize biology to solve the problems of human health and environment.
  • To make useful products by sophisticated biological process and to promote research by the way of lab to land practice.
  • To provide state of art infrastructure facilities for higher education, training activities, developing research aptitude and to facilitate industry-institute interface

Salient Features

Approach

Lab skill

  • The practical class is designed in a way that enables the students to improve their lab skills and research aptitude using advanced techniques and instrumentation facilities.

Co-curricular/ Extracurricular activities

  • The practical class is designed in a way that enables the students to improve their lab skills and research aptitude using advanced techniques and instrumentation facilities.
